Introduction post!

Summer's here, and we all know what that means - lots and lots of garage sales! I've recently gotten back into going to garage sales as a hobby, and got the idea to start up a blog with my finds and stories about sales I've visited. I've also seen some other blogs about yard sales and wanted to be able to follow them, so that's another reason for starting this blog. This is more for myself than anyone else, but if you like what you see and want to comment/follow, that's great.

I see garage sales as both a hobby and a way to be thrifty when shopping. I'll pick up anything I think I might be able to re-sell (as a student, any little bit of extra money I can get helps!) but I also find things for myself and family/friends from time to time. I'm careful about how many things I buy, as slight pack-rat-ism runs in the family and I like to keep down the clutter as much as I can. But sometimes the deals are just too good to pass up ;)

Though today's only Wednesday, I'm already scouring Craigslist and the local newspaper for interesting sales this coming weekend. I was only able to make it to a couple last weekend, so I'm itching to go out and see what I can find! It's like a treasure hunt or something, you never know what great things you might come across.
